The Plaid Button Down

    One of the biggest trends of the season is menswear inspired women's fashion.  At the forefront of this look is the plaid button down.  A little bit of him (button front casual) with the best of you, the plaid button down comes in luxe fabrics and gorgeous colors for Summer '13.  These shirts make great additions to any woman's closet and will quickly become a wardrobe staple for every season.  Because they're so versatile there are tons of different ways you can style of them.   Wear yours unbuttoned with a tank underneath and a pair of denim cut off shorts for a casual beach look.  For a more glamorous and chic ensemble keep it buttoned and knot it at the bottom.  Then pair it with a chiffon maxi skirt or wear it over a maxi dress.  Roll up your sleeves and throw on some black skinnies topped off with a pair of high heeled sandals for an instantly edgy look.  If you're looking for something relaxed and laid back wear your plaid shirt with leggings and ballerina flats.  Or go preppy with a pair of colored cropped pants and espadrilles. There's nothing manly or lumberjack-esque about these looks, which are every bit flirty, fun and feminine.

 If you're dreaming of Summer you'll love this color trend: NEON PINK! It probably comes as no surprise to anyone who knows what a girly girl I am that pink is my favorite color, especially in a neon hue.  Although I've always loved this shade, currently my pink fascination is inspired by the Michael Kors Summer 2013 collection, which is peppered with great brights.

I love to wear my neon pink with basic colors like black and white or navy for some contrast.  When I'm feeling more daring I'll pair it with other neons like yellow or lime.  Even if you're a neutrals kind of girl, I guarantee that after browsing these looks you will have the fever for a pop of color.
