Lighter than lapis and brighter than powder, one of the biggest pastels for fall balances a soothing side with plenty of presence. The shade of a cloudless horizon in May feels refreshingly optimistic in November. Plus, its sligthly dusty cast is especially elegant on outerwear. Cozy neutrals like charcoal and cream give the pretty blue a soft landing, and it looks fearlessly sophisticated with burgundy. Yet, a muted green is perhaps the most surprising; try it as just a touch, like a collar or sleeve peeking out.
How to Wear it...
Seek out pale pieces in heavier fabrics like wool to give the airy hue some weight. Then bring on the contrast. I think this feminine color looks best when teamed with something hard, such as black leather riding boots.
