Victoria Beckham |
By all accounts Victoria Beckham is a survivor. She escaped tabloid shenanigans, fought through the stigma attached to '90s girl groups and has risen a champion in the fashion world. When "Wannabee" hit the airwaves in 1996, I was introduced to "Girl Power" and to Victoria, known then and forever to me as "Posh Spice." The Spice Girls may have embodied moxie, but Victoria's stance against grinning is what set her apart: a fierce smize (smile with her eyes) her statement accessory.
Cut to fall 2008, and I was taken under her spell all over again with the acclaimed launch of Victoria Beckham, a collection consisting primarily of dresses. For me, VB has always ranked high on the best-dressed lists and been a fashion icon. Each look in her premiere collection delivered proof that the girl who trademarked blush-worthy hemlines had evolved into a ladylike designer. I instantly fell in love with the brand's silhouettes that were form fitting, yet sophisticated, and the thoughtful details, including zipped backs in rose gold, ribbon lined waists and luxurious fabrics. From the time of her debut collection to her present designs, VB has created clothes that are relatable to women. I know I love her graceful style and millions of women, including myself simply aspire to dress like her. Of course, her current collection does not disappoint- with flippy skirts, sheer panel blouses, satin bomber jackets and silk culottes. Most of all I love the feminine and elegant color palette of hot pink, grey and white. Check out the stars of the victorious designer's spring 2014 collection below.
