Color Pop!

We all love a good black liner to make our eyes look bigger and more awake, and while we’ve lost track of how many hours we’ve spent trying to make the wings of our eyeliner even, we still can’t get enough. The latest trend in liner isn’t a shape, though. It’s all about the color.

From pops of green on the outer edge of the eye, to a bottom lash line of blue, there’s a shade and a shape of colored eyeliner for everyone. Below, I've gathered my  favorite colored eyeliner looks from the runway and gave you the products to try so you can wear this colorful trend, too! Start thinking outside the ordinary.  Shop a spectrum of the season's chromatic liquid eyeliners.

To achieve the look above... Line your under eye with heavy blue eyeliner for a great anytime look — day or night. To keep the focus on the bright blue, leave your top lash line without any color.
Try: Kat Von D Waterproof Autograph Pencil in Electric Blue Shimmer, $10, Sephora.com

This lime green color isn't for the faint of heart, but we're a little bit obsessed with the fun vibe it brings. Smudge it along your upper and lower lash line, then finish with mascara.
Try: Vegan Mineral Makeup Eyeshadow & Eyeliner in Chartreuse, $5, Etsy.com

Use bright green eye liner on the outside corners of your eye lids to dramatize your eyes. Instead of a pencil liner, try using a gel that will cover more surface, giving you a fun update on the classic cat eye.
Try: BH Cosmetics Gel Eyeliner in Fairy $3.95, Bhcosmetics.com

Give your eyes a boost of color by lining the top and bottom in a tangerine eyeliner, then tracing with black liner to make the look really pop.
Try: Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Burnt Deep Orange, $20, Stilacosmetics.com

When using an unusual pop of color, like red, try combining it with black to add a darker dimension and make your eyes really stand out.
Try: Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Cosmetic Colour Pencils in True Balanced Red, $16, Sephora.com

When playing with bright blues, draw a thick line tracing the upper lash line and extend the line for small wings at the outer corners. This will create a cool and vibrant look.
Try: Ulta Gel Eyeliner Pencil in Aqua, $2, Ulta.com

Going Polo...Ralph Lauren's First Polo Line for Women

Polo Ralph Lauren, F/W 2014

The designer of American dreams has been creating preppy sportswear and glamorous gowns for decades but one thing he resisted was a Polo brand collection just for women.  Until now.  Introducing Polo for Women is a major move to reach a broad range of design-conscious consumers, with it's elements inspired by downtown loft living, Adirondack style, the American West, motorcycle bikers, and even French schoolgirls.  "Which style you select, should be all up to you," the designer says.  "It's all about individuality."

Hair Side Story: The Extreme Side Part

Peter Som

Side part, say hello to the ear- you two are going to get very close this season.  Everywhere from Opening Ceremony to Peter Som, the message was clear: The aggressively low side-part (with optional faux-bang comb over) is the alpha part of 2014.

Why I love it...

1.You can show off your new Vita Fede ear jacket.  Catbird ear cuffs, jumbo Celine style mono earrings, those ubiquitous double-sided Dior pearls- even if you indulge in just one of these trends, the side-part, with hair neatly tucked behind one ear, is the perfect way to celebrate the statement lobe.

2. It balances out your features. Does your nose tilt slightly to the left?  Is one of your cheekbones a bit less chiseled than the other? Create the appearance of harmony by placing your part on the opposite side.

3. Did I mention it only takes 30 seconds?  All you really need is a comb, though in a pinch you can also use a bobby pin, a dried out Le Pen, and a clean fork (really anything with a dry, pointy tip is fair game).

Finder's Keepers!

We all have that friend who scours out-of-the-way boutiques for cool jewelry, but most of us don't have the time. Thankfully, Club Monaco has done the legwork for us with Pieces, a curated collection of independent designers from around the world.  "Each one brings wonderful craftsmanship and individuality" says head designer Caroline Belhumeur.  I'm crushing on these beauties from N.Y.C., in particular, Michele Campbell's gold styles and Bing Bang's sculptural cuffs.

Smoke Rings

Keira Knightley

A perimeter of dark liner always makes a sexy statement.  The problem is that sometimes it can make your peepers appear more beady than bedroom.  Ready to smoke without the risk? Create a controlled burn by giving your top and bottom liner the slightest smudge with a small brush.  It adds depth and expands the shape of your eyes so they actually look a bit bigger.  Use a gold pencil to give the inner corners of the eyes a glimmering topcoat and you're set for seduction.
