Sophia Webster's Happy Feat

It's no surprise that I love shoes, but what I love even more is a statement sandal or pump that will prompt nearly everyone who sees them to ask "Where did you get those shoes?"  To my excitement, Sophia Webster is out to make me and you smile for spring 2014.   A protegee of London's shoe mastermind, Nicholas Kirkwood, the Brit footwear princess's perky patterns have already won over some of Hollywood's biggest trendsetters, including Rita Ora, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Rihanna.  This month, she's bringing her signature styles to a broader fan base thanks to a 13-piece collaboration with J. Crew.  The driving force behind the collaboration, of course, is the designer's tried and true motto... helping women express their personality through statement shoes. "Just keep the rest of your outfit low-key," the designer advises.  How exactly can you accomplish this feat?  Follow the designer's own tips for building a look from the ground up below.

Poppy print- "Balance this dainty design with a structured piece, like tailored shorts or a pencil skirt."

Art Deco- "Finish a bright ensemble with these stilettos.  Neutrals always look amazing with a color that pops."

Hearts- "Besides a perfect pedi, team these whimsical sandals with cropped skinny jeans or a sharp blazer."

Florals- "Punch up your work look  This print is playful, but the shape is office appropriate."

Rainbow Plaid- "Head to toe blue, like cuffed jeans and a chambray shirt, will offset these luxe douppioni lace ups."

Stripes and Spots- "Polka dots are feminine, but not overly girlie.  Try them with an eyelet dress or cropped white jeans."
