Short Notice: New Creative Ways to Wear Your Shorts This Summer

One of the most versatile and comfortable fashion staples in a woman’s summer wardrobe is shorts. From tailored to denim, neon to printed, leather to lace, there are countless ways to style your shorts from day to night.  Feeling bored with your short ensembles of the past? Well, get inspired by my creative styling ideas below and give your go-to warm-weather look a modern facelift.

Lace shorts.  Not only do lace shorts evoke a strong bohemian vibe, they're also fabulous for dressing up this summer with an uber-feminine style. Pair them with a chambray blouse and flat leather sandals, plus an oversized tote for a laid-back boho-chic look, or with a more structure tank and blazer for an elegant twist.

Tweed Shorts.  Although tweed shorts are mostly worn during the fall and winter months, a soft tweed can also be delightful to wear for summer. Incredibly flattering and polished, these shorts create an instant classic look – and they can take you everywhere from a day at the office to a night out with friends. You just need a quick change of your top and some updated jewelry and you’ll be ready to go if a friend stops by your office.

Denim.  For casual daytime wear, denim is best. Whether classic or cut-offs, denim shorts are great for staying chic this summer. Wear them with a loose fitting tee and cropped vest along with fringed stiletto booties for a leg-lengthening look at it's best.

Leather shorts: They are surprisingly versatile and can be used to create tons of fun summer looks. Opt for a basic, yet classic black style so that you can wear them all year-round, from summer to winter.
